I'm ruminating about Andy Giddings involvement. Just curious on which song he is present.

Drink From The Same Well

This is an epic piece of music developed from an earlier idea on which Ian had worked long and hard twenty years before. It featured on a lengthy demo made with the then Tull keyboard player Andrew Giddings and was written as a potential collaboration with pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, renowned player of the bansuri (Indian bamboo flute). Many years later, Ian developed the lyrics and new melody to provide listeners with a stellar virtuoso performance on both his concert and bamboo flutes. Some of the original flute along with Andrew's piano and accordion remain on the final master here.

Cool, that could be interesting.

Still waiting for more US retailers to list this. Most current prices are north of $55 but lasercd.com has it for $48. Still early days so will wait a bit to see if Amazon, Importcds or DeepDiscount can beat that price. After hearing the excellent Atmos title track on Apple music this is another must buy for me.

All these art/ear book 2CD/1BD sets are wayyyy overpriced in my view. Steven Wilson's Overview is going for $75 - $92, Leprous' Melodies Of Atonement is ~$60 - $70, and even Riversides Live I.D. is going for ~$30 - $35. Ruminant isn't cheap, but not out of line for today's prices, unfortunately. Hopefully Importcds will beat these prices by at least a few bucks. Unless the artist/record company is willing to offer a standalone Blu-ray, I see prices on multi-disc sets going in only one direction.

Somehow missed this thread, but anyway via YT, another video...

This just seems too expensive to me. Especially for music im not sure of. I seldom play anything from Zealot Gene or Rokflote. Maybe buy it used from @GOS in a few months.
I can't hold back. Total turnaround for me. I'm having a crisis. Jethro Tull is now a horror to me. Looks like the last three albums will be the nightmares that I did not want to happen. I'll stand by the solo Ian Anderson albums, but the vocal is now not entertainment to me or Martin Barre. Sad, sad...
Crisis? This crisis. I hate the videos too. (Screaming mad.) ( I want my money back for Zealot & Rockyflute).
Calm music playing...😬

What else could it be, but hubris? After decades of writing the lyrics, the music and fronting the band as flute player, showman and lead (usually only) singer, it's understandable that IA just cannot relinquish that position. The truth is, without his continued involvement there simply would be no Jethro Tull. It's possible that he could have introduced a new singer or singers and retained his other roles (along with spoken word and backing vocals), but it's apparent he's just not comfortable doing that. Fortunately, I can tolerate the way his vocals are mixed, and still enjoy the flute led music he and the current band are making. Sure it's not what it was, but for me, it's still often more interesting than a lot of the dreck out there.

A fair assessment of the current (heck, this could apply to Tull post 1984 and certainly after the dismissal of Martin Barre) Jethro Tull. Ian has had vocal "issues" for many years and it is my understanding that this was also some of the impotus for him and his fishery endeavors. Regardless, I also am supportive of him wanting to explore his musical endeavors whether I buy them or not...does anyone remember the concept of "free will"???
