Here is the amazon.ca preorder link: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01L68Q53K/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB&psc=1

The price (after tax, with free shipping) is a couple dollars more from Amazon than ordering from Burning Shed (even considering the exchange rate and high shipping cost from BS). But, there is a good chance Amazon's price will be reduced before the release date. And, you don't have to worry about the possibility of import charges from Amazon. I think I'll pre-order from Amazon and keep an eye on the price.

I changed my order from the Uk site and reordered .ca a couple of days ago. I'm constantly juggling orders for best price between .com, .ca, .uk, .de. Man....I'll need a book keeper soon...and some adult supervision.

An hour before Martin Barre is to call for his interview, I find this press release in my email:

JETHRO TULL’S STAND UP:
THE ELEVATED EDITION

LOS ANGELES – Jethro Tull’s second album, "Stand Up," marked an early turning point for the band with the addition of guitarist Martin Barre along with Ian Anderson’s introduction of folk-rock influences to the group’s blues-based sound. Released in the summer of 1969, "Stand Up" rose quickly to the top of the U.K. Albums Chart, and eventually earned gold certification in the U.S.

Wow, fresh news on a four-decades-old band! When Barre calls, I ask him about this upcoming two CD, one DVD remixed release, with bonus tracks, 96/24 flat transfer (I don’t know what that means, either) of the original mono and stereo versions of “Living In The Past” and a video of the band opening for Jimi Hendrix in 1969 in Sweden that was, “Recorded only a few weeks after Barre joined the band.” And the 112-page book detailing the album’s history, track-by-track annotations by Anderson, rare photographs and the original album’s pop-up book artwork.

Suggested retail price, $39.99.

Long pause. At the other end of the conversation, Barre seems to sigh, perhaps roll his eyes, fix them on a distant point many, many miles away. He’s unaware of this oncoming Tull treasure.

“The record label only deals with Ian,” he says. “They only have the last 30 years. You’d think they’d at least send me a copy. They never do.

Not sure if already posted, but here is the Burning Shed pre-order link....and for me here in US, they give a much better price than Amazon UK at the moment.

SHED

EDIT - oops, I went back to Amazon UK and the price I saw the 2nd time was lower than the first time...not sure what happened there. So, now they are similarly priced to US.

EDIT 2 - Jeez! I forgot to convert to US dollars.....so my original statement is correct. Burning Shed is about $10 cheaper for me.

haha - so, just checked all the options and Amazon UK is cheapest for me. $31.97 shipped. BS was up to $38 and Amazon US was about $35.
So - pulled the trigger on Amazon UK. :)

Bull Moose now has this up for pre-order for $26.97:

Same ...... saved 7.29 compared Amerzon with tax grrrrr :howl

Thank You MarkN

I think it's time cancel my Amazon Canada pre-order (the price is still too high and isn't dropping) and order from the US. It's way cheaper even with the currency exchange.

It always happens that Amazon.ca Marketplace sellers will offer the title at a much better price once the release date has passed.

I think amazon.co.uk is cheapest right now, even for us Canadians. After shipping it is 24.13 GBP, which is CDN$38.57. I going to either pre-order from there, or wait for a marketplace seller as wavelength suggested.

Well, I didn't see the Deep Discount promo. I had Bull Moose shipped for $29 and some change. Today I received an offer from Pop Market and had a 10% discount, so I'm getting it shipped for US $27 flat. Heck, I might just keep the Bull Moose too. I dunno.... :)

This should be an interesting release, given the limitations of the original stereo mix. Pre-Ordered, can hardly wait!

ED :)
