Code PAYME20 on selected sellers on eBay UK valid till Nov 9 bought new via music magpie whose basic price was lower than amazon UK so with 20% off was good deal. Don't know why amazon sent early (ordered sep 22)also got moodies set a day early as well.

More from SHF:

Funny how no one's said anything about "All Along The Watchtower" yet...

I got my copy today. Here are some of my first impressions based on a very quick leaf through. Probably due to flu and general tirednes,s my hearing isn't very good today, so i won't even try to be specific about the sound quality, and especially dynamics.

...

5.1 surround mix: Ok, it might be my hearing, but this sounds weird. Some tracks sound great, with nice immersive sound, but others sound very odd. The biggest problem seems to be that it clearly has been impossible trying to replicate the original phasing sound. The intro of House Burning Down is totally powerless. It sounds awful. Midnight Lamp sounds very freaky and powerful, but at the same time he whole thing seems to go out-of-phase in a way, that it sounds just strange. Worst of all, some tracks are a lot louder than others. Have You Ever Been is a lot louder than Crosstown Traffic, for example. But i'll give it a proper listening another day, when my ears feel better.

Dr. Flang [over @ SHF] soak your ears in warm epsom salts and I'm sure you'll feel better in the morning

Sounds like EL would sound better in Stereo played through one's pre/pro's DSP modes rather than the 5.1 remix.

I'll have my copy tomorrow.

So you think playing THIS through DSP modes is a good option:rolleyes:

Looks like you may have misinterpreted my post there Ralph...I'm fine. I just copy/pasted that review from the SHF thread on EL.

Ordered from ImportCDs a while back, not sure when it's gonna come. I won't even get a chance to listen until next Friday earliest. Highly anticipating the first reviews here at QQ...

Thanks for that info....I guess I didn’t get that offer as I live in the BIG BAD .... US of A....even though I’m Canadian😀

I ordered my copy through Wally World - cheaper than Amazon US (they have been price matching Amazon and then offering a discount if you pick it up at your local Walmart). Wasn’t expecting it until next week but it arrived today! Just picked it up but won’t get to listen until tomorrow AM.

I did but then I corrected it. Disregard the epsom salts suggestion, Jonathan....it's for Doctor Flang. [Physician....heal thyself].

What did you actually pay through Wally World? Did you get the vinyl or cd set? Hopefully you were smart and bought the LP set as it is an ANALOGE PRESSING not digital as the CD’s will be

the 3 CD 1 Blu Ray set - I have no interest in the vinyl nor the CDs (with the exception of some of the outtakes) - I have multiple previous versions on vinyl and CD. My only interest is the Blu Ray - paid $39.62.
