i reckon there's 1 or 2 unreleased L.A. Express Quads in the vaultsI was there! And I have the album, and a couple of L. A. Express discs, too.
(on Ode, so under Sony auspices rather than Warner like Joni Mitchell)

Hmmm. I’ll have to check, but I have a PDQ Bach that says it’s quad on the cover, but not on the disc. I’m pretty sure it’s the “Wurst” disc, but as of today, it’s still in the moving box.one even got as far as a catalog number..

That's better than Ladies of the Gorge. They should rename it “Ladies Of The Canyon.”
Continuing an off-topic thread - so I dug up the records, and I have two copies of The Wurst of P.D.Q. Bach. Both covers show a quad (VSQ 4007/8) catalog number, and both show a stereo (VSD-719/20) catalog number. Unfortunately, all discs have the stereo catalog number. I don't recall where I bought one, but the other was on ebay and advertised as quad. I've seen another copy on ebay and asked about the number on the disc label, and the listing was revised to stereo.one even got as far as a catalog number..

Do these exist? This would be a dream come true for me.Joni Mitchell has authorized her own archives releases, unreleased studio and live shows are being announced. Might there be re-release of quadraphonic and unreleased 5.1 mixes? We have a friend at Rhino who probably can't say anything right now, but...
Still waiting for an announcement.Do these exist? This would be a dream come true for me.
There are a few Joni Mitchell albums in Dolby Atmos/Spatial Audio on Apple MusicStill waiting for an announcement.
I anticipate that there will also be an HDTracks download release of the same material in hi res.No quads.....but volume 3 of the archive series is coming in October.

This is just a continuation of the Archive series while boomers interested in demos, alternate takes and live tracks are still around to buy. The jury is still out regarding any future release of the Joni quads. In the meantime, all we’ve got for Joni in surround is “Both Sides Now” in 5.1, if you can find it(and lossy Atmos streams). Hope springs eternal for future digital releases of “Court and Spark” and “The Hissing of Summer Lawns” in quad.Enough with the fuckin’ drama, are we getting Joni in modern physical surround or not?
The new Atmos mixes of both titles are leagues better than the old quads, I'd almost prefer that those get a hi-res physical or digital release.Hope springs eternal for future digital releases of “Court and Spark” and “The Hissing of Summer Lawns” in quad.
