L/R Level Matching and Matrix Decoding

IIRC, SQ decoding is very sensitive to level differences between L and R, I was wondering if minimizing the level difference helps in general with Matrix decoding (basic and logic directed) QS - H - DS - DPL2 etc?

Yes it does help but not as much as with SQ. I like to monitor the rear channels while adjusting the balance for minimum center vocal in the rear.
