Please post your thoughts and comments on this new deluxe edition of the debut album from Talking Heads entitled "Talking Heads 77".
This deluxe edition features a new Dolby Atmos mix of the album alongside the 5.1 surround mix that was originally released on the 2005 DVDA-V disc.

I'm impressed by Atmos mix-- it manages to capture the feel of the original stereo mix much better than the 5.1 did, while still managing to be more adventurous with surround activity than the 5.1 (Tentative Decisions is probably the most fun track in this regard). That's no easy feat. The 5.1 has a very aggressive sound with the kick drum just thumping away on every track and a lot more reverb than the original stereo. The Atmos captures the more laid back, dry sound of the stereo mix very well and still pushes things into the surrounds in ways that some will call gimmicky but I think are fun.
