It’s evening music to me... He can have great introspective ethereal lyrics. With music styles from jazzy rock (Chic Corea guest appearance), to soft observations...

Well Beef if you remember that how about this other cat, from 1969? Both Keef Hartley and Harvey Mandel played with John Mayall.
Both albums where big hits in San Francisco FM radio, KSAN and KMPX.
