I had asked him a few years ago if that first album would ever be mixed in 5.1 and he said DTS had approached him about it but couldn’t find the multis. I’ll see him next week, I’ll have to ask him the story about this mix.

The eight-minute version of Slow Ride is pretty cool, had forgotten about it long enough ago that it sounds fresh.
Whatever your taste in this rash of Atmos Oldies,
(and despite any moaning about wasted opportunities for more discreteness and swirling pans)
they darn sure sound better than they did on the old portable and car radios back in the day.
