1K Club - QQ Shooting Star
Mono version
And finally...one of my all time favourite albums...which I played to death on its release. Now added to my library.
How can it not be a different mix? The streaming version is Atmos, the SACD is 5.1.Can you tell if it is a different mix than the SACD released so long ago?
I always give that one a spin around this time a year.
The Atmos is definitely a real mix, and a decent one at that. The album has a lot of effects, many of which find their way to the heights. I haven't compared it to the SACD to determine if there is any change in the overall fidelity. On the few listens I had, it sounded fine.I see that you are right there.
Guess I should have asked if it sounds like it was a mix done with love or just a software generated version.
How great that this showed up. "Company" is my favorite surround release ever. RIP Angela Lansbury.Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (Original Cast Recording)

Quite nicely done, sort of like the old quad mixes of Company & A Chorus Line with orchestral parts mixed into the rear channels at times. Sad about Angela Lansbury as well. Loved watching Murder She Wrote back in the day!
I seem to recall a promo vid with Jeff Wayne talking about the mixing of this into Atmos.I see that you are right there.

Its a Warner release right? Is it a real mix?Dire Straits - Money For Nothing
Don't expect too much... especially if you've heard the Brothers In Arms SACD.
Apple says EMI/Mercury, I don't follow who's who anymore though. Its a Warner release right? Is it a real mix?
Not yet available in the U.S. but I am anxious to hear this.Dire Straits - Money For Nothing

This is now available in Atmos.I'm guessing they are going to release Tom Petty's greatest hits in Atmos soon.

So obviously I found the "Freedom Highway" in Apple Spatial; but not the other one "Tomorrow Is My Turn" yet. And if I was to search for it, not sure I'd get the Atmos version as it's under the Singer/Songwriter genre (at least when you play it.) But they don't always match up with what Category they're listed in on the main page like Rock, R&B etc. Except there is no Singer/Songwriter category as far as I know?New on Tidal today (so far):

*I remember her from this great song on "The New Basement Tapes", short but sweet.
