Good to read this! Listened to the stereo version this friday and thought some tunes were great, and some were average, definitely a step forward a different approach from his previous solo albums.
 
Very excited about this one: new album by Monkey House, savvy jazz-pop outfit led by Toronto native Don Breithaupt. He's a huge Steely Dan fan, and you can tell (dude literally wrote the book on Aja, arguably the best volume in the "33-1/3" series), but his band's work stands on its own. Guest spots from Randy Brecker and Steely Dan horn arranger Michael Leonhart. Preview track only, so far, but I was delighted to see it's in Atmos.

It's not on Tidal at the moment. I hope it will show up soon.

I Like It When You Sleep…is one of my favorites when upmixed from the stereo using DSU So this will be interesting.

Man, they need to get the levels consistent with this format. This album is all over the place. Tracks 1 thru 3 on this album are about 6 dB too loud compared to most of the other Atmos content and then track 4 is way quieter coming in at about the “normal” Tidal Atmos level of 20dB lower than the regular stereo music on Tidal. It sounds like it may not have been mixed by the same person as well. Oops…track 5 is about 10dB louder again. Yikes!

God forbid you make a playlist with both stereo and Atmos tracks. Maybe we can start suing for blown speakers and/or eardrums 😳

Sounds like you are listening on Tidal- which is extremely problematic with ATMOS volume levels. Seemed consistent on Apple to my ears.
