continuing in a Jazz theme but with a quite different vibe, is the fabulous new album "Inwards" from the French Jazz/Broken Beats/House trio based in London, Emile Londonien
Bo Burnham has comedy in Atmos that is good. Not standup however.while i find this wally's brand of humour about as funny as toothache i gave it a go for Atmos giggles and it was fun for five minutes having a Surround-y audience
thanks! i'll check it outBo Burnham has comedy in Atmos that is good. Not standup however.
It's sooo disappointing, and always is. This album (one of my two fave Beach Boys albums, the other Holland). They can never get this album, or any version of the songs on it, right!? WTF.wow this and Surf's Up sound truly dreadful! not only are things all over the place with Sides at times louder than the Fronts but there's so much bass it feels like my windows will blow out! do we know who mixed these?
Much like The Beatles IMO need to allow someone other than Giles Martin a chance to create spatial mixes, the same is true with The Beach Boys and Mark Linnett. Ironically Giles did a nice job with Pet Sounds, so I wonder why he didn’t get a crack at the rest of the catalog.wow this and Surf's Up sound truly dreadful! not only are things all over the place with Sides at times louder than the Fronts but there's so much bass it feels like my windows will blow out! do we know who mixed these?
I doubt he did these other ones. Just Pet Sounds.Giles Martin

Haha, I guess opinions are like a-holes (we have one and they all stink) but James Acaster is one of my absolute favourite UK comedians - his four-part special on Netflix from a few years back is one of the most ambitious standup specials I've ever seen. It's funny, I was actually talking about him with another friend of mine recently and we both agreed that while he's got a long way to go in terms of longevity, he's on a trajectory to be a 'protect his brain at all costs' national treasure with some of our other favourites including Bob Mortimer, Sean Lock, Bill Bailey and Kevin Bridges.
It appears this album is the audio from his upcoming special on HBO:

Wonder if the Spanish version has been mixed differently? Not holding my breath, but I'll check it out soon (being Spanish myself, I'm also curious about her performance there).
I've heard that her previous album Daddy's Home has a superb Atmos mix, which I haven't heard yet.
Mert Ozcan did the Daddy's Home mix (he's behind a number of other really good Atmos titles including Rhye's Home and several Sigur Ros albums). I'm guessing he didn't work on All Born Screaming.Yes, it is a much better mix than ABS. I had high hopes mix wise and was left disappointed. I will still listen because she is so great but I can't imagine what happened if the new album had the same person at the mix controls.
