i'm in a big ol' Bee Gees mood today for some reason (it's been a while πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ˜…πŸ˜‹πŸ₯³ ) and have been combing through their Atmos offerings on Apple Music πŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸ’…πŸ•ΊπŸ»πŸͺ©

are these 23 tracks everything that's on there in Atmos? πŸ€”

i imagine it's already been noted here and i missed it or it was so long ago i'd forgotten but the 2 streaming Atmos versions of "You Should Be Dancing" have wildly different mixes! 🀯😱

the Atmos "Full Version" (4:46) more closely resembles the original Stereo (4:17) in terms of balances and mix elements, whereas the Atmos "Edit" version (4:17) on the "Children Of The World" album has the same track length as the original Stereo but much greater emphasis on percussion! the album edit in Atmos is more like a Deodato track! bongo-tastic! woo! 🀩🫢πŸ₯³πŸ™Œ

@ForagingRhino how about a Bee Gees Atmos Blu-ray release someday, Mr. Rhino? πŸ™πŸ’˜πŸ™Œ
There were 2 different Atmos mixes of Stayin’ Alive. The first one seems to have been removed unless I’m not seeing it.

oh yes! well remembered! 🀩 i'd totally forgotten about that! πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

it was the first Atmos mix to hit the streaming services, readily identifiable from the different string parts in the intro, that seems to have disappeared altogether.

i just blitzed through 7 Atmos versions on Apple Music to check (on "The Ultimate Bee Gees", Bee Gees "Greatest", "Saturday Night Fever" Soundtrack, "The Record : Their Greatest Hits", "Timeless : The All-Time Greatest Hits", "Number Ones", "Tales From The Brothers Gibb") and they're all the same later Atmos mix which more closely resembles the original Stereo.

can't remember if i posted it here before but it randomly came up on shuffle and gave me a chuckle so i thought why not spread the love! πŸ˜…πŸ€£

quite possibly the worst mix of the worst cover of the worst song.. in Atmos! πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ₯΄

"Cette année-là" by Claude François in 1976 covering Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons "December, 1963 (Oh What A Night!)"

Why did they even bother? πŸ€ͺ

French people would disagree with you (see the number of plays) 😜

Yes, it looks very cheesy nowadays.
It was very common back then to take an english spoken song and cover it with French lyrics. Frank Sinatra did the reverse with a Claude François song.
Now I need to check this Atmos mixing.

The Atmos mix is particularly bad. There is no spatiality.

I'll never forget seeing Ringo sing Act Naturally with The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show.

[Edit] Circular pan in the ceiling speakers in the last 30 seconds of track 1. πŸ˜ƒ

Next week, Ringo Starr & Friends will play two nights at the Ryman in support of Look Up. Co-produced by Starr, Burnett and Van Toffler, the Jan. 14 and 15 shows will be filmed for a special and will feature performances of many Look Up songs and β€” according to Starr β€” β€œβ€˜Octopus’s Garden’ in a country style.”
