Was hoping I’d wake up today and see Radiohead the Bends in Atmos for the 30th anniversary………but noooooooo god forbid Radiohead mix some of there catalog into Atmos not that the music isn’t perfect for it.
Maybe think of this as a disappointing blessing. One of my favorite bands, Marillion—who I believe are perfect candidates for surround sound—have released some really underwhelming 5.1 mixes, even from usually reliable sources. Honestly, the disappointment of hearing a weak mix feels worse than simply wishing there was one.

Not holding my breath, but...let's hope for some good mixes.
Rolling Stones Atmos tracks on Apple are definitely upmixed from stereo.
I remember having some of the SACD releases back in 2000 something and I can hear the multichannel mix of 2000 light years from home in my head, but maybe I'm wish-membering that.

The new Stones Atmos mixes are terrible. What's the point of mixing them like this or even doing surround mixes.
I would have liked them to more aggressively use what ATMOS offers, but I do hear more space around the musical elements, especially the drums. To your point, I wouldn’t spend money to get these new mixes, but dont have to since they come with my Apple Music subscription.

either it's a mistake or a slew of The Rolling Stones' albums are coming in Atmos as they're the new Spatial Audio Featured Artist on Apple Music but when you playthrough they're all Stereo only 🤔

Quite a gap of important albums between Now! in February '65 to Let It Bleed in late '69.

This fall ABKCO are releasing Out of Our Heads, December's Children and Beggars Banquet in Atmos. If mixed like these new releases then who cares.
