Just finished listening to these two beauties. Played the first album twice. Second album sounds better. More even, better soundstage. First album has a little too much midbass and muddy on some songs but sounds good otherwise.

Edit: I just looked at the rear cover on both and noticed two different Mastering engineers.

Charles Mingus- Blues & Roots

This SACD gets great reviews. The sound is beautiful when it’s got room to breathe, especially the baritone sax, but when too many play at once it gets cacophonous and messy IMO.
The music is interesting too though I can’t say I’m totally in love with it.

same here - Hip has never been a fav for me but Run and - specifically - what MOFI has done with the Run releases - has made it Very enjoyable

SACD hybrid pressing of his 2001 live release includes one additional track that's unavailable on the standard US CD pressing, 'Mad About You'. In a moonlit courtyard in Tuscany, on the evening of September 11th, 2001, Sting hosted a musical evening for 200 fans & friends. With his long-time band & several guest musicians, Sting performed songs from his triple-platinum album, Brand New Day as well as some his many of his celebrated hits. In his inimitable style, Sting reinvented these songs through constructed, intimate arrangements. Other tracks include, 'Fragile' & 'A Thousand Years'.

VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
