The Darkside of the Moog XI - Dts\cd. If you squash together the back beat from Floyd's "Learning to Fly" with the sturm und drang of "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun" you'll soon be launched into Voyage 35....

Charles Aznavour - Plus bleu (SACD)
What a pleasant surprise! Absolutely satisfying mix, discrete as possible, plus decent fidelity ("Remastering et creation son multi canal : Simon Heyworth chez Super Audio Mastering")

Macy Gray - The Trouble with Being Myself (SACD)
Always a pleasure, this mix is just right - btw by the original mixing & recording guy Dave Way. A lovely, even album.

I've been wanting to hear this for quite awhile now but had no desire to buy the whole Immersion set. I purchased this on eBay from a seller in Spain as a standalone BDA. All of the print is in English except for under the "6" on the disc, which appears to be German. Has this been available outside of the US as a standalone BDA or what exactly did I purchase?

Anyway, it sounds fantastic!! I think I prefer the AP Quad mix to the more recent 5.1 but that's a narrow call and need to listen again (and again, and . . .) I know I'm hearing things I've never heard on DSoTM before or at least never paid attention to. The concert vids, "Live in Brighton" and the doc are all great add-ons too.

Bob Marley just arrived today and this is my first listen. I was caught off guard by the album version of No Woman No Cry as it's more up tempo than the other version used on previous versions of Legend. I prefer the other version, it's slower. This disc lives up to the hype; it's never sounded this good and I've listened to it a lot over the years.

Can't believe how clear Redemption Song sounds on this disc!

...and what do you think of the Quad mix? :p

It's a good mix and the content surprised me. It's a combination of styles; mellow at first, then some rock and some jazz and a little electronic thrown in as well. Good sound quality. I usually associate Edgar Winter with songs like Frankenstein and his backup mates White Trash, but he's a jack of all trades and styles. Nice disc and quite a "diamond in the rough" for me. Thanks again for the suggestion.

You're welcome :) (and no I'm not getting a rake off from Edgar or DTS for the raving I do over this disc!) :p

The music is very much an acquired taste and as you say all over the chart stylistically, more so than any other EW album I've heard (and I've checked out as much as I could find by him and related to him since I discovered this disc)..

..but for me the main draw by far is the Quad mix.. oh that Quad mix.. at times it is just sensational.

I swear you could use the last few tracks as a channel check for your speaker setup, there's so much insane round the room panning going on! Wow! :wave :worthy
