Capricornia - Midnight Oil (DTS CD).

Wowzers..!! Amazingly discrete mix!! :p

Initial impression.. It's often a "dry" mix, not much reverb on anything but vocals.. takes some getting used to.. it's a bit bright and fidelity isn't the best DTS but the mix, oh the mix.. a lot of work (and thought) clearly went into the creation of the surround mix here.

Some of the tracks are absolutely wild, others not so much.. but the overall feeling I get is that a lot of care went into this and it really paid off.

Just popped in my brand new copy of Wish you were here on SACD by Floyd. What a pleasure to hear this in high rez....real nice. Welcome to the machine is downright frightening......

I love the sounds in that track, everytime I hear it !

In addition, also received a brand new copy of WAITING FOR THE SUN - THE DOORS ON SACD.

I gotta say, I'm very impressed with the overall SQ and mix on this. Considering 1968, this is very, very good. Some songs sound brand new to my ears with this high rez mix.

Yes it is- as it should be, given the subject matter. Awesome album made even greater w/ the addition of a mch mix.

ooh!

the DVD or the blu-ray??

The DVD. I believe the Blu-ray has been delayed (I'll get that later).

The mix is pretty good though. It really highlights their collective talent and virtuosity. I am hearing some amazing things.

Stickmen-Deep....this one is gonna get overplayed to death...I'm thinking of getting another copy ...hopefully it won't be scratched...

My favorite Doors album. Take me to Portugal, take me to Spain.

Ladysmith Black Mambazo "Raise Your Spirit Higher"

I didn't know these guys had released any surround recordings until I started visiting this site more regularly and now I have all three. Very different to anything I normally listen to and all the more enjoyable for it!
