Actually, it doesn't take a lot of time, although I spend a fair amount of time on here, often from my Android. I'm retired, although I'm not yet retirement age. I facilitate 2 unrelated physical groups, and sit on the board of a not-for-profit.

Last month, I spent two days moving out of one home and selling it. Next month, I'm doing the same thing with my other home, and taking possession of a new home. Moving 20,000 CD's/LP's and 5 surround systems is a pain. I also bought a hardtop convertible today, with nav & DVD-A, to replace the one I sold in December, which also had DVD-A. Lots of exciting new things, but also lots of work. I spent the whole day on red tape for those two major purchases. By early next week, I should have the new car. Now you know my life story. lol!!

Holy cow - also just noticed you're a moderator. Very cool. I'm a mod on another AV forum. Takes time huh?

Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson TAAB2...second spin...love it how it starts with one of the licks from the original....it is a different beast...still quite good nevertheless...but no comparison to the original-it's unfair...

I bough this ages ago and still haven't played it. That's pretty bad for me; I always make a point of playing new discs as soon as I can, but with TAAB2 I wanted to make sure I had fully digested the new mix of TAAB1 before I played it so it's sat there looking at me waiting for a spin!

Anathema - 'Weather Systems'

Simply stunning, both musically and mix wise, even if it is just a DD DVD-V.

P.S. I really do love KScope's Digibook cases :)

Anathema have been one of my favourite bands since they released "A Natural Disaster" way back when and I was stoked when they put the last two out in surround. I really hope they stick with the format.

If you have any means of playing it you can buy a 24bit48k flac of WS from Burning Shed.

Yeah, I was going to buy the 5.1 FLAC but I do like to have something to hold and look at. I can listen to 5.1 FLAC's on my system upstairs in my studio, but not downstairs, so I am looking for an affordable way to burn the 5.1 FLAC files to DVD-A. I can only find Cirlinca's apps which, whilst good value, seem a bit of overkill for me as I only have a few 5.1 FLAC albums to convert. And whilst I do have a W7 laptop, my main computer is a Mac and there is nothing Mac specific in that area that I can find.

I've only gone the other way - ie from DVD to FLAC but I'm sure there must be a freeware way of doing the reverse. Have you checked the authoring section of this site?

Yes, I've made a specific post, looking for help. There's an app called Audiomuxer but it doesn't burn DVD-A's and I don't currently have a Blu Ray player.

I'll keep looking...

Wrapped In A Dream - Spyro Gyra (Hybrid M/C SACD).

Another Heads Up SACD you can still get nice 'n easy, another (Predictably) amazing surround mix from this lot!

..it shimmers, it slinks, it bristles, its groovy, its funky.. and bleedin' 'Eck there ain't half a lot of bongos and twiddly fiddly bits going on in the rears! (*)

WOWZERS!

There's only one thing for it..

its  time..! I see you baby! Shakin' that ass!

(* ..and there's the occasional "Woogity Bop" in the rears too! Get it and see for yourself! Another stunning surround SACD.)

you've gone the other way too!? oh god.. its catching!! it'll be queeraphonicQuad before you know it!@:

Agreed - there must be "FLAC to DVD" utilities out there. I'm guessing some of those may only be for Stereo sound though.
You'd need a 5.1 FLAC to 5.1 DVD program to handle multichannel FLAC files.

The Heads Up Surround Sound SACDs are excellent. They really do revel in immersive and aggressive Surround Sound.

I remember talking with the Heads Up folks before they jumped into SACD releases and having immersive surround was at the top of their list.
They definitely delivered what was promised !

Cirlinca's suite of applications do just that. I converted my 5.1 FLAC of Tubular Bells that I bought through the Bowers & Wilkins Society of Sound site using the demo, but the demo is time/use limited and costs around £70 which doesn't sound a great deal, but I only have three or four 5.1 FLAC albums to convert and that equates to £17.50 per album, on top of what I've already paid for the files and the blank DVD's! ;)

Chicago II DVD-A. After all the discussion of Chicago, it was fitting that it was the first DVD-A I'd spin in my new hardtop convertible. The one I sold a few months ago was a ragtop that did DVD-A.
