I think the North American copies in dvd dd dts are pretty good sounding . The dts is 96/24 . I do have 4 dvd/sacd Genesis releases though , and find I switch back and forth sometimes preferring SACD other times DTS DVD .
Have no problem with my players----- playing PAL.

But that being said, I'm always on the lookout for a cheap copy (oh ya right ) of Lamb...in DVD/SACD .
So far, my perception is that the SACDs sound better, on my system (I haven't done the strictest A/B possible). Enough that I want to find my key albums on the format. Depeche Mode too.

After 30 years of renting, I finally sat down in my new home tonight and tried out for the first time ever, over here:

Amin Bhatia - Interstellar Overdrive
Steely Dan - Gaucho
ZZ Top - Tres Hombres
Blue Man Group - Audio

Now: Bob Marley & The Wailers - Legend :smokin

My God, it is so nice to live in my own place with no landlord to say what-not!:dance
Congrats, Frogmort. I can’t imagine how difficult it’d be supporting a massive music listening habit in a rental property; especially an apartment where walls are shared. Welcome to the homeowners club!

IIRC I got rid of my SACDs when I needed the $$$ and got myself the DTS DVDs mainly because I recorded both to 96/24 and found no difference in the frequency spectrum..

I definitely hear you, on that. I'm not convinced, however, that hardware processing of native DSD isn't a factor.
So far, to my ears, it has always sounded better to me than extended DTS.

SACD's better than DTS.. DTS' better than Dolby Digital.. Dolby Digital's better than Pro Logic.. but are they all better than blu-ray if a butterfly flaps its wings in the Atmosamazonian jungle!

well..!? are they?? 🧐

Switchfoot Nothing is Sound DualDisc Dolby Digital 48k: It's possible this hasn't spun since I first got it a few years ago. Wasn't in the mood apparently. I read they're a local band and it's working well enough for me now, fairly crunchy.

I have the Genesis Green Box (DVDs), and they sound great, but none match the quality of the later SACD of THE WIND & THE WUTHERING. That is a true audiophile treasure! Been tempted by the Blue Box (DVDs) that a member has for sale here, but with WIND and a separate TRICK OF THE TAIL already, I have the albums of theirs I really like.

That could change!
