A QQer says in one of the poll threads that the DVD sounds better. I bet that's because the CD is 20-bit mastered(, 16-bit playback, I think).

Outstanding music! That album was my first exposure to John McLaughlin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra. Blew me away and started me searching for the rest of his albums in the 70s. I got to see him perform an acoustic show at the University of Georgia in the early 80s but I preferred his electric music.
I was very excited when they released this quad recording on SACD! I had stumbled across and bought a vinyl quad recording of this years ago, but never had anything to play it on.

Today it’s Eagles - Hotel California

I got this album as a present on my 18 birthday. I was out of high school and staying with my cousins that fall. I remember reading the lyrics, looking at the album cover and the poster of the band members. I was so pleased that Joe Walsh had joined the band. I had around shoulder length hair at that time. My grand mother came up to me while I was looking at the poster and said, “Please don’t ever look like those guys!” I think she was pretty worried about me and my rock music. And to be fair, that could have been a picture of a gang of outlaws...

What a great a record!
