Doesn't sound like an upmix. I am surprised, it is a proper 5.1 mix with proper separation et spatialisation (although the equivalent of side 1 of disc 1 is sounding pretty bad).
Retirement followed quickly the death of his son, and maybe, it was the blow that precipitated that retirement. I was not interested by albums post Discovery, save Amarok, damn it, I waited.
I was aware of Ziggy (a BR I have also), of Heathen (ditto), not of the others. I am going to look for them if they exist in physical form. Thanks.
All the 5.1s I mentioned exist as physical discs. However, the mixes vary dramatically, I'd suggest you should take a look at the polls before investing in them (Station to Station and Live are to be avoided, for example).

You are right, prices are insane. And I found no trace of Blackstar...
Yes, that's correct. I was trying to be very precise on my mail. The mixes that I mentioned have a 5.1 mix do have a physical equivalent. The rest I mentioned are in 360RA were released only on Tidal, with the exception of Space Oddity that has a slightly different mix in Atmos and can be listened in Apple Music.
In any case, what was released on Tidal are excellent mixes that deserve a physical release.
PM me if you need any more details about Tidal mixes

I'd love to hear about Atmos mixes from any streaming source. Isn't Apple Music $6/month? Thanks.

It sounds like Fish is done with both new and back catalogue releases. I'm not holding out hope for any more from him.
From Uncle Fish
"Chocolate Frog Record Company is closing it's doors next March immediately after the UK tour.
I will no longer be manufacturing albums and the last production run was in October when the final pressings of the 'Vigil in a Wilderness of Mirrors' and 'Internal Exile' deluxe sets were delivered to Germany for the tour. There will be no more repressings of any titles. I can be certain that the existing remasters and deluxes will never be duplicated by another company. It's the end of an era and the last of the Chocolate Frog releases. "

Nice to know , that Giles Martin has been busy , with INXS.
I would love to see Giles finally release :
'The Beatles-Magical Mystery Tour', the full album .(unlike that Bluray Movie soundtrack mix)
Next year is the anniversary date for the 1976 complete Album ,
so in time for Christmas 2025 would be great, and if not ...2026.

Also with Giles , re The Rolling Stones , my preference would be 'Sticky Fingers',
that is if he should get their Catalogue access .
And also high on my Rolling Stones list , are 'Beggars Banquet' , and
'Let It Bleed'...... 'Exile On Main Street' to a lesser extent.

And perhaps it's time for some physical releases like those from The Grateful Dead - 'Blues For Allah' and 'Terrapin Station' .

Not sure what quads Dutton Vocalion can release... (or if they can?) In relation to some Harry Nilsson.
So maybe Harry Nilsson- 'Nilsson Schmilsson', and 'Pussycats' can come by another source , such as Sony Japan ??
Ditto to the Jefferson Airplane quads . Would love to get the unreleased quad of
Jefferson Airplane-'Surrealistic Pillow' .
And 'Worst' , and 'Volunteers' , and 'Bark'.

And what of Johnny(4) and Edgar Winter(5) and their quad albums? Those totals include unreleased quads 'Johnny Winter' & 'Roadwork/White Trash'.
Can Dutton Vocalion or Sony Japan release any or all ?

Also I have to wonder if Sony has Bob Dylan's - Greatest Hits , (unreleased quad).
Can Sony Japan pull off a miracle and release the 3 from Aerosmith ?
'Get Your Wings' , 'Toys In The Attic' , and 'Rocks'

And finally Rhino.'s Search Dept.:
Will this year be the year we finally see ZZ TOP 'Tres Hombres',
and 'Deaf School 'Second Honeymoon', and Passport -'Handmade', and Ralph McTell- 'Right Side Up', and Absolute Elsewhere - 'In Search For Acient Gods' Fats Domino -'Montreux/Hello Josephine',
located at long last ?
