Another new release arrived today.
Marillion
Afraid of Sunlight

Have no fears folks.....Mr Hunter has upped his game on this mix....hooray!!!

Don't tell anyone but Crimson and Marillion have been delivered on time by Amazon UK..
Thought I might have a black mark against my name for taking them to task over previous mess up's.

Update: Just don't expect a mix up to the quality of Mr Wilson's!!
But there are not many who can match or better his fantastic mixing skills...imo

Great album.....especially as it's a first time listen for me.

I'm being inundated with superb music at the mo....

Got this to see how it compares with the Dolby Atmos bly-ray copy I got from China.

Pleased to report that the Chinese copy is faithful to this version....and imo...better.

I hear music and the crowd in the rears.
As with all shows, in some sense or another. But is the music reverby and also present in the fronts or are any important parts dedicated to or favor the surrounds?
The mix for Time Machine Tour mix favors the surrounds for Alex's guitars, for instance, plus the drum solo is very discrete.

Saw this listed on a thread of "rare" SACDs (in quotes because I found it for $5!)

Caroline Henderson Don't Explain

W O W !
Now this is not the most exciting surround jazz vocal disc I've ever heard--as far as the mix goes; in fact, much of the surround action is reverb and a mirroring of the front speakers . . . but every now and then, something surprising pops out behind me, making me smile and feel even closer to what goes on in the front three. And forilla, godzilla, what is going down up front is seriously getting up for the down stroke--hip arrangements and seductive vocals, sometimes breathy, sometimes hoarse, sometimes clear, always intriguing and interpretive. Henderson's voice is firmly anchored in the center throughout much of the disc (sometimes it sounded as if she was left and a growly grizzly male voice on the right--though on one song, that male voice is behind me). I'm spinning it a second time and turning it up. Damn, comrades! Glad I stumbled on that thread! Peace
