Hmmm. I see this is live album & I heave low expectations of the quality of live recordings from that period. I will give a ckose listen to the HD Tracks sampler & consider. Other than being a fave album what else is your opinion of it?

Thank you for the tip. Are you saying the orig CD has better DR than the HD tracks?

I well understand the value of good DR but it is only one factor of many defining the quality of sound. I am not that fetishistic as others making a purchase of (or not) on the DR of a recording.
The question of balance between music with high resolution & limited DR vs lower res & better DR is interesting.

I'm with you. It can definitely be a trade-off.

Some people find them lifeless and want something that's been re-mastered using modern technology.
