they're surprisingly not identical, although they're equally underwhelming, in as much as the mixes are the same but the mastering's different.

the Front channels are compressed on the DVD compared to the SACD, so the Surround presentation feels more Front-heavy on the DVD than the SACD.

there's some old comparison chit chat, waveform pics and other stuff on the QQ between the SACD & DVD-V, i'll see if i can dig it up.

..alas, many of my favourites aren't available there for streaming at all..!

so, out with the little big little guns let's crank up the ol' disc player and shimmy up those trusty Dutton Vocalion SACDs and get (Tale) Spinnin'!

I am ripping my Tears For Fears-The Hurting, bit of a chore.

My confession: I preview listened to Gilbert O'Sullivan-Driven at time of ordering from SDE and was just not my cup of tea. My SDE series up to 10 now was missing SDE 2 Driven. I couldn't stand having the missing #2, so I ordered from Discogs.
I am so sad to say, $85.00. But my constant back and forth is now stopped.

Listening now to the hard disc Driven in Atmos. Probably the one and only. Musical content, well, just not me. Atmos, basic, nothing special.
Well, he is from the town of my ancestors, Waterford, Ireland, he gets credit for that.
