Penguins win Stanley Cup with 2-0 win over Nashville. Got home late, put on Mike Oldfield's 2010 Hergest Ridge 5.1 during 3rd period (just happened to be on a stack)

German progressive rock - Pink Floyd style - very nice :smokin

In fact, the vocalist sounds a lot like David Gilmour.

Would recoommend these multichannel albums too:

World through My Eyes, 2005 (SACD)
Wanted, 2014 (DVD Dolby Digital)

I really really like RPWL: World Through My Eyes (SACD 5.1) but not so much Stock (DTS 5.1). Stock sounds exactly like it is, a bunch of leftovers not good enough to make the original album(s).

Any thoughts on RPWL plays Pink Floyd's the man and the journey available as a cd + dvd (5.1)?

I've only listened to it once, but musically its good (which is what I listen for first). I'd need another listen to appraise the surround, I don't remember it being 'discrete' but it is a live recording. So it is in the 'to listen to again' category, but I've a load of music I haven't got round to listening to once yet, so its towards the bottom of the pile.

Hard to believe this DVDA'S music from Donovan comes from NINTEEN SIXTY FIVE !!! K-Reist that's early !!

Anyways love the music but the surround is just plain , well -----not really that existent as we know it should be or must be for that matter.

also was available as a dvda/dualdisc btw.

FWIW -----Donovan-Fairytale DVDA (fr Silverline )

To it's credit it does have plenty of bonus 5.1 tracks--six all told .

One of the best ever DD 5.1 dvds ever .

mixed in surround by Steven Wilson---a must own, must play, by an incredible Canterbury Rock/Folk group.

Caravan-In The Land Of Grey And Pink (I think we need more from Caravan :smokin)

Yes Q-Linda one of them there TC ELECTRONICS quick swipes I figure and from a tepid stereo ? Tape perhaps.

One thing we can thank them for is the phrase "Silverlined " when describing any bad 5.1 mixes . :yikes

I only own a few of these particular (Silverlined) Silverline label discs , but only because I like the particular artist . Yeah that's it ---my excuse is it's the music from a well known good artist !! :D

That's a mighty fine list skherbeck . :upthumb

John Fogerty-Premonition is a great surround mix . But my fave tunes in 5.1 on that live disc have to be his "solo " album works., such as Centerfield.
Good tune !!

"PUT ME IN COACH ! I'M READY TO PLAY...........CENTERFIELD ! :D

Day off from work random morning surround playlist:

Bryan Adams "Summer of '69" (Reckless BD-A) The BEST "glory days" song (of course, I was only a fetus that summer, but the sentiment brings a smile every time...)
Coldplay "The Scientist" (A Rush Of Blood To The Head)
King Crimson "Lizard" (Lizard DVD-A) A band I only discovered thanks to surround... and now love (special thanks to Steven Wilson)
The Flaming Lips "It's Summertime" (Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots DVD-A) A 10 for surround; just wish these Lips discs weren't so brick-walled (fantastic music, though!)
R.E.M. "What's The Frequency Kenneth?" (Monster DVD-A) scheiner
Donald Fagen "Teahouse on The Tracks" (Kamakiriad DVD-A) SCHEINER!!!
Ratt "Round And Round" (Out Of The Cellar)
Focus "Hocus Pocus" (Q8) I wish we could get this in hi-rez! This is my only yodeling song:(
Elton John "Love Song" (Tumbleweed Connection SACD) Love the vocals... the Elton SACDs are essential surround purchases!
Love And Rockets "Saudade" (Seventh Dream Of Teenage Heaven BD-A) beautiful song and mix
R.E.M. "E-bow The Letter" (New Adventures In Hi-Fi DVD-A) Wasn't really into R.E.M. until I heard the surround mixes... now I'm a fan!
