Chicago IX, from the Quadio box, featuring the new extended-single version of "Make Me Smile." :)

I love the greatest-hits disc, but the really chopped-up version of "Smile" always bugged me. So last night I finally got around to restoring the intro and ending sections from the original tracks on Chicago (II) in Audacity to recreate the longer single version I remember hearing on the radio from time to time back in the day. (Maybe it was an AM vs FM thing? Can't remember.)

Freddie Mercury - The Video Collection (DD DVD)... This disc has some really discrete surround mixes and some absolutely gorgeous songs. The mixes benefit from a slight rear boost (2dB for me). Standout tracks are "Time", "The Golden Boy", "Barcelona", "I Was Born To Love You", and "Living On My Own" (but your results may vary ;) )

Such a GREAT album, KAP, and makes one want MORE Browne in 5.1. [Hint: Late For The Sky]

I love the quad version . Rhino would save time and money if they released it , over a new mix. And I believe it's in top demand for all things quad to be released by Warner.
This is one of the handful of discs I purchased in Quad back in the 70's , not knowing what to expect as I was not familiar with his music . I categorize as a"try it and see if it's ok" type of thing , and wow....what a jewel of a quad mix and sound . It became one of my regular plays and I still enjoy it today. A very highly recommended disc .

T'uther nite I gave this blues grunge blues disc a spin.

Love that Elliot Scheiner brought up the sound of the cello on the song " Dumb ", to fully compliment Kurt's vocals . Has that overall you are there surround mix . A must own Live 5.1 . And it's a small venue recorded live, btw.

For me this is an absolutely perfect surround mix. It goes full four corner discrete but drums are locked in the front, harmony vocals split between the rears. Everything is crystal clear, nothing's mixed too far down or missing. As with a lot of quad reissues, can't believe this disc actually exists!

Listening now to my awesome new JRiver library, run though my solid McIntosh system, 4.0 Loggins and Messina, Audio Fidelity, PCM176.4KHZ at a respectable 55db.

A VERY respectable 55db, Markie. Such a great album and a dream come true. Really miss AF. They were a class act. So are you, bro!
