Thank you so much for this comment! I used the SQ quad as a reference for placements and levels, but I never listened all the way through to the end, so I thought that guitar was static! Time to go back and get that guitar movin

it does start out static but as the track goes on that legendary riff starts to zoom round the room! nearly creamed me jeans when i first heard it go round from FR to RR to RL to FL and back! check out the Q8 for truly accurate representation of the channel balances (i couldn't get the speed totally right before my tapes fell to bits but i did get the entire contents of the Quad, so its all there discrete in the right channels!)

did you find multi's for any other Shaft/Isaac Hayes tracks?

DV are really spoiling us!
they gave us the Shaft three ways in Quad form already!

not only is it on that Cecil Holmes' 2-fer but its also on the Percy Faith "Clair" & "Joy" 2-fer and the Ray Conniff "Alone Again (Naturally)" & "Love Theme From The Godfather" 2-fer.

I'm amazed it took me this long to get a copy. It really is that good pups , what a nice surprise!!
Even more so when I read the liner notes and his dedicating it to his Uncle!!
