Ray Charles - Genius Loves Company (Atmos IAA download)
I wasn't aware of this album before this. A well done Atmos mix of Ray Charles last studio recording, doing duets of modern standards with their original singers. Nice.
This brought back memories of a night in the late 70s I saw a double billing live concert of Ray Charles and B B King in some small theater-in-the-round on the north side of Chicago. WOW.
IIRC BB opened the show and did about an hour, then Ray and the Rayettes came out and did about 1 & 1/2 hours. Next BB came back out and they played together for another hour. What a hell of a good time that was. A musical night I'll never forget.
