Empire Central was a 2022 release I think.

Snarky Puppy Sylva 2 disc set doesn't advertise Bly Ray or Atmos but I think this is correct?

Ian Thomas-How we roll. I believe this is correct as it advertises as Blu Ray.

I don't want to miss a recommendation that is a grand slam.
Not sure about the Amazon listing, though it looks correct. BD and CD. I ordered mine from the Snarky Puppy site, I believe.
Ian Thomas...that looks right.
Both are Atmos.

OK, cool, ordered. I know many people don't like Amazon, but it is just simple for me. The pre orders have a low price guarantee.
I notice many people have long waits when not using Amazon, but mine seems to come pretty fast.
That said, there is an Amazon back log on Tulls Christmas and Fear Of A Blank Planet are in "not sure when" arrival mode.
I know Amazon is also on strike also.

Snarky Puppy wasn’t just a home run, it was a grand slam!

Release of the year for me, it's not often that I feel compelled to write a lengthy review about a release (though I might have to do another one about how annoyed I am about Thin Lizzy's 1976) but this was one that demanded it.

Two iconic John Williams' scores masterfully remixed into QUAD from the original analogue multitracks by Michael J. Dutton!

Highest Recommendation!

You've brought this to my attention and there are great reviews and a grammy for this. Sampled it today and I love Jazz fusion. Ordered it on Snarky Puppy website and got a free digital download (which is always nice). Look forward to this new arrival. Thank you for this recommendation. Happy holidays to all.

This will be interesting in 2025. I am starting to back off. I used to see an upcoming surround release on QQ of a band I have never heard of and purchase. Some great gems I have found and a lot of duds.
Yes, I think in 2025 I will start to be more picky with the Rhino Quadio and Atmos series, also the SDE numbered series.
You have to admit that by numbering, and limiting supply, Paul Sinclair is great at marketing. IMHO, not all of the SDE discs are my taste, but that said, per Discogs almost all of my SDE discs are worth more than what I originally paid (including shipping to the US). So I will stay on that bandwagon. As for Quadio, I have them all except for the last batch. The Quadio bundles have less than excited me as of late, so I figured that it is time to be selective with those.

Perhaps it's time to replay a lot of those earlier multi~CH SACDs and DVD~A discs and stop splurging on 'unknown' artists with surround remixes.

Last night I spun this early 00 SONY multi~CH beauty on my new system and it was a REVELATION. Literally blew away even a lot of current QUADIO and even ATMOS remixes

These days with outlets like Bandcamp and Apple Music I'm listening to a lot more music and unsurprisingly finding a lot less I feel the need to purchase. In the old days, especially with surround, releases were so rare and hard to find you felt compelled to purchase anything you could even when you were pretty sure it wouldn't be something you'd really want. Now I can sample almost everything I'm interested in and be really selective about what I buy. Sure, I still make an occasional blind buy, but it's pretty rare. I've never been a collector in the sense of being a completist or as an investment - I'd much rather own what I really like to listen to.
