Obviously there are a lot of high-profile releases garnering all the attention these days, but one of my favorite new releases has largely flown under the radar: a 2-CD/1-BDA set of Serge Gainsbourg's trippy L’homme à tête de chou, which can be had for under 30 bucks (US) from Amazon or jpc.de. (It came out at the end of June.)

Poussin, who has mixed pretty much the entire Gainsbourg catalogue in Atmos for Apple and Tidal (and who did the SACD and Blu-Ray for Histoire de Melody Nelson a few years back), was asked by Universal France to undertake a new, more adventurous Atmos mix for this set. He succeeded handsomely, IMO. The original streaming mix from 2021 is fine, too, though it intentionally hews close to the bone-dry, voice-forward stereo mix in its overall "feel." Details about the mixing & mastering of the BDA here; background here and here. Disc navigation is straightforward and effective.

that is a very detailed review of this release.
Do you know if "Jeff" from https://magicvinyldigital.net/ is a member here?

So this was a $10 find on EBay. A great capture of a moment in time. Love this iteration of the band. Ian Anderson’s insights are cool as well. Nice job on the 5.1 mix.
