Wow! Talk about Lost in the Sixties... Here's a Bay Area band that I somehow never heard of until a couple of weeks ago when one of my favorite YouTube channels, Yesterday's Papers, turned me on to Fifty Foot Hose.



Think Jefferson Airplane meets the United States Of America and you'll get the general idea. Pioneering and innovative, Fifty Foot Hose one and only album, Cauldron, is a nifty slice of psychedelic insanity. So glad I was able to track down a used copy.

I have a friend who used to talk to me about 50 foot hose..... guess I will have to check them out.
Check out the YP YouTube video I linked above. He does a terrific job of profiling the group and their sound. If, after watching the video, the music of Fifty Foot Hose sounds appealing to you, then you'll most likely enjoy the Big Beat comp. For those less adventurous, the listen may prove to be be a tough slog.
