Gene, you're really going to miss out on buying so many discs when you retire and find yourself on a fixed income. I went on a buying binge back in 2016 when I knew that I was going to retire in august 2017. I was fortunate in being able to snap up so many DVD-A's and SACD's before so many of them skyrocketed in price on the OOP market. I've been relatively selective in my purchase decisions since then.

Oh, I know. I'm lucky at the moment to have a nice income and can afford to buy this stuff. IN a couple years when I retire, that will change I guess.

I hear you. I also got extremely lucky in living down the street from Circuit City when they were stocking a lot of music in surround. So goes the way of brick and mortar stores.

Finally, this is out for delivery later today. Though, I ordered from importCD, not Cherry Red.

Product Notes
Three CD box set featuring all the albums recorded by the unique Progressive Rock band Carmen between 1973 and 1975. CARMEN initially came together in Los Angeles as seven-piece band formed by guitarist DAVID CLARK ALLEN and his sister ANGELA ALLEN in 1970. The band's unique style blended both Progressive Rock and Flamenco styles, with Angela Allen also being an accomplished Flamenco dancer aside from being keyboard player. Despite interest from music mogul Clive Davis, the band failed to make any headway in getting a record contract they relocated to London in 1973. The Allens soon assembled a new line-up of the band with Flamenco dancer and vocalist ROBERTO AMARAL and British musicians JOHN GLASCOCK (bass) and PAUL FENTON (drums). Their unique live performances soon came to attention of DAVID BOWIE who became a friend of the band. Famed producer TONY VISCONTI produced the band's debut album 'Fandangos in Space' in 1973. This was followed in 1974 by the album 'Dancing on a Cold Wind'. Carmen undertook extensive touring and appeared on the Midnight Special US TV show with Bowie before parting company with Tony Visconti. The band's last album, 'The Gypsies' appeared on the Mercury label in 1975 in the USA and Japan, following it's release Carmen disbanded with John Glascock joining JETHRO TULL. 'The Albums 1973-1975' gathers together all of these albums, serving as a fine introduction to the music of a unique Progressive Rock band.

I canceled yet another non-fulfilled Amazon order (very tired of the Amazon BS with pre-orders). This time for Wings - One Hand Clapping JAPANESE SHM-CD and ordered from cd.japan. It’s scheduled to arrive on Monday.

I finally broke down and ordered The Police Synchronicity 6 CD Box Set. I decided to order the SHM-CD version from CDJapan. I just hope that it’s not compressed to death in Dynamic Range. That’s why I’m very hesitant to preorder any CD’s nowadays.

Now, if I could only talk myself into preordering the Alan Parsons Project, Pyramid, box set.
