Hi all...I've been reading this section with a lot of interest lately and can't find the up-to-the-minute status of my situation below.
While I work with Sonos in chasing down a DTS 4.0 playback issue (resulting in my Quadios not playing all 4 channels), I figured a workaround using the advice here (thank you) where I make MKV files (MakeMKV) and convert to to MKA while splitting the chapters (MKVToolNix) and then going out to Apple Lossless (To M4A Converter). These can then play back through Plex in the original multichannel output.
The only issue I'm having so far is with gapless playback with titles like Chicago 2, Abbey Road, etc. Not sure where in the chain this is happening, but I'm guessing it's in the chapter split with ToolNix.
Haven't tried this workflow with any Atmos content yet.
Has the gapless dragon been slayed as yet?
