I think @himey has had success joining split Atmos files to play in DRP, and hence make the joined file usable to decode (not fail). He may add something to this conversation?
The Chicago Atmos worked but the majority of the others did not. I had to go back to the original MKV files for most of them to decode. All were fine using the single MKV with chapters.

Dynamic range is not calculated when using wavpack .wv format. I've not that much in this format, but it can store up to 16 channels (may be more than 16) that FLAC can't. It's very interesting what the excellent new media file reporter finds in my library.

If the input is from a BDA that was split from a MKV rip then that’s a known issue with DRP.

You would need to decode the original non-split MKV to stereo the split into tracks, the MMH Atmos Helper will do that.
Yes, that was the case. I will try going the way you're suggesting. Thanks.

Fixed in MMH 9 beta 1 (not yet released) - I'll publish this asap, probably on the weekend.
I've had issues with the Tag & Rename Media Files functionality and was wondering if it's supposed to work with wav files (these are 10 channel)? It seems to work fine with 2 channel flac, but the 10 channel wav files always have issue.

Tags always dlownloaded from MusicBrainz

Problem is seen when trying to view the same files in other applications such as mp3tag or JRiver Media Center. Neither of these applications recognize that the files are tagged. Also, when Mp3tag goes to open these wav files it reports error that the file cannot be opened.

These same files open correctly from within MMH's Tag & Rename Media Files option.

This is with Version 8.0.12 of MMH.

Unfortunately the Give It Back album (Pineapple Thief) from Immersive Audio Album came in split mkv files. I'll try joining them and see if that will work.

I've tried different file types and once they are split, they don't seem to work usually.

Hi - I have a set of flac files which are encoded in 7.1. Is there a way of down-mixing to 2 channel stereo using MMH please?

thanks!

Is it possible for you to upload on of those file for testing please? PM me with a link. Also can you please zip the wav prior to upload, much smaller file then.

You’re not the only member asking this recently.

No there’s no ‘easy’ method, but I will add a new option to the upcoming MMH 9 beta release in the Channel Remix tool. That will allow a one-click batch remix of all 8 channel FLAC or Wav files to stereo.

You can also do it now by using the Channel Remix tool’s ‘User Defined’ option and create your own channel mapping 8 inputs and stereo output. You can set the volume balance by editing the channel gain value in the user defined diagram. See the PDF docs page 109 onwards. I would recommend using higher gain for source FL & FR and less for the 4 surrounds, it will be remix and listen (rinse and repeat) on first file until you get a best result, then use that for all your remixes.

The new MMH version will probably first remix 4 surrounds to 2 (making a quad) then quad to stereo in an attempt to balance the final remix. That process would be invisible to the user.

That'd be fantastic!

Many thanks for all the work you do on this, it's a superb product 👏

Good morning Garry,
I know your busy but let me know if you can help me load MMH on the new PC.
It downloads as a .msi and my PC wants to find that, also I turned off all Windows Defender Reputation-based protection with no luck.
I can show you screen shots of the pop ups in a PM if you would prefer.

I only use two functions of MMH but they are critical to my listening pleasure. Split & Rename Concerts and Extract Audio from MKV.

Successful download of Microsoft .NET 8 Desktop Runtime (x64)

Make sure you download the msi installer file to your c:drive, create a folder on c: drive, right-click on the download link in first page, then ‘save as’ and select the folder you created on c: drive. One downloaded go to that folder a double-click it to run the installer.

That should work.

EDIT: This link:
MMH 8 installer - Direct link: https://reva.blob.core.windows.net/mmh8/MMHInstaller.msi

Download then run the msi file
