This error occurs because the conversion failed and the output m4a is zero bytes. It appears mlp from DVDA is not supported in an m4a container. It has a different codecID to Dolby TrueHD mlp. Solution is to convert those DVDA mlp to FLAC, that’s lossless so identical audibly.
@HomerJAU I'm getting the same error too now and I am using MKV files. I didnt have the issue until I just upgraded to the latest MMH version. I tried multiple MKV files and no data when extracting the audio file to Flac. Is there a way to roll back to an older version? Thanks

Nevermind - user error..... I ran out of HD space!!!! So sorry for not checking!

MMH checks for available disc space in a few places, I should check more often or at least show why the conversion failed in your case.

Dolby Atmos decoding cuts the first second of anything decoded above 5.1. A good track to test this is 'Bad Guy' by Billie Eilish, it cuts off the first beat if you decode it in 9.1.6, for example.

Nothing in MMH but I can probably add a new option in the remix tool to remix 5.1 and quad to stereo. I’ll take a look this morning.

I think Foobar2000 may have something, not sure. Maybe post that question in a new thread here on QQ.
Please! Every time I try to do it manually, it doesn't save the remixed files for some reason... Strangely, it works flawlessly with other channel maps (7.1 to stereo, 9.1.6 to stereo, etc). Here are my configs:

If you have the Dolby Reference Player the MMH Atmos Helper can decode and downmix the Atmos mix to stereo
About that... If you decode it directly to stereo, the final result will be kinda broken (some important elements will almost disappear). The only solution I found was decoding it to 9.1.6 and then using the 'Remix Channel Layout' option to downmix it to stereo. This makes a pretty good conversion, but the only problem is that the first second of the audio gets cut off, as I mentioned above.

Welcome to QQ @Arth Attack

At first glance. I say its a bug due to EU locale using 'decimal point as comma'. I will get a fix for this in MMH 9 beta 3 due out within the next 48 hrs. Final testing & a few of tweaks now.

In the mean time if you download MMH 9 Beta 2 which adds a new 'Multichannel to stereo' downmix option in MMH 9's 'Remix Channel Layout' tool. That option uses channel remix coefficients to recognised standards.

Thanks! Installing it right now.

foobar2000. I just tested it with VLC, and the same thing happens. I don’t think it’s a problem with my player. When I import the audio into Audacity, I can see that the audio is chopped there too.
I haven't noticed any abnormalities when I cue up an album. I only use Foobar for decoded Atmos now because I can't get the layout right in jRiver. I decode/remix from 7.1.4 to 4.0.4 and I don't hear any issues transitioning between tracks. What playback setting do you have in Foobar and how is it connected to the receiver, HDMI?

Standard settings. I use my FiiO DAC/AMP connected to my PC.
For me, gapless playback doesn’t work because of the issue I mentioned, even when using the same settings as you. I really wanna know if it’s just a problem with my app. Do you have any live albums or studio albums where songs connect seamlessly to the next (e.g., Dark Side of the Moon) to test with?

I just tested DSOTM Atmos decoded to PCM and it was perfectly gapless. HDMI WASAPI.

What file format are you playing?
