Dear Surroundies
For those who dont know I and Dave (overture) back around 2006 designed for Nakamichi what was going to be the re surfacing of there HiFi origins on the 25 anniversary of the release of the Nakamichi dragon cassette deck. On the final calibration period I worked for a month with Nakas ledgendary designer Kozo Kobayshi. We built 140 sets of these in our China factory. Then Naka's parent group (the GRANDE group) had a $600M loss and the budget got cut and so did the project. I eventually sold all 140 of these sets.
You can see discussion about it in this thread in the totally corrupt "Stereonet" internet site....I refuse to deal with these guys

I have 2 sets myself, Dave has one set. They are as rare as you can get....look them up on google. They would have compete with the Martin Logan hybrids but frankly the Nakas had a way better bass and better dispersion. When I was trying to sell my Logan Summits (then priced around $15K) people would ask what were the Nakas, then I would demonstrate the comparison and no one preferred the Logans! I would end up with a Naka sale instead.
In short my charming son Max is selling one of his 2 sets as he is moving to a house with not enough space.
See below:
They are scratched and need to be sanded and resprayed but they sound great.
Internally they are self amplified with dual 100 W amplifiers and they have 2 x 8 inch bass drivers.
If the units are sold overseas you will need to add a lot of shipping costs and assume an additional USD$500 for a wooden packing create
ASKING PRICE USD$3000
