Well, potentially at least - sadly none of them are currently connected up as I'm living in the middle of what resembles a building site whilst my new central heating system is installed!
I think you are now the record holder with the most Surround Masters!!!!!!!!

What a guy

I'm still wondering what the results would be if one rigged up two SM's in a 7.1 configuration: The front outputs of SM1 going to the front speakers and the rear outputs of SM1 going into the second SM2 which feeds the surrounds and the rears. Might be wild, might be no difference?

We both know one guy that could do it, this could be nasty or nice

I think it would be like Googling "Google" - you just link to Google ad finitum and are none the wiser!

I have not tried this with the Surround master but have done this with two Circle Surround 2 decoders. One for front wide and the other for center back, left back and right back. Mixed results when decoding matrix sources but excellent when playing discrete recordings

While we are on the topic of using multiple decoders I am reminded of a friend from the old MCS Review days. His top priority, the thing he really loved, was live performance rock music. He was pretty dedicated to recreating that in his home as close as possible. To that end he used a QSD-1 for the front chs. It was set to the Synthesize mode and drove 4 speakers left to right up front. For the rear chs he used a Sansui QS-1 for ambience extraction.

So, a sound panned strong left would emanate from the far left front speaker. Right panned audio would emanate from the far right front speaker. Easy to visualize that sounds panned in between would do just that with center front not being altered. The humble QS-1 (I had one of those) was really good at producing a hall/ambience effect. So he had a very wide front stage with any desired amount of audience/ambience rounding it out.

And also he had a QSD-2 in his car for surround. Pretty cool thinking & dedication.

That's pretty interesting! Are you doing this for all formats stereo/QS/SQ ? What is your speaker set up?
I only use this configuration for discreet quad, regardless of source. For SQ and QS I use the SM only. I could use the Sure for rears in matrix material if I wanted to but it has not been necessary so far.
I still have 5.1. I'm using my original SM to extract center and sub from discreet front channel info and the Sure to get sub info from those quad sources where there is lots of low frequencies in the rears. Some titles work better than others. My 4 corner speakers are already hanging from the ceiling. Been there since the early 70's so when I switch to Atmos soon the hardest part will already be done.

Dear All

I am going to release a new SM V2 brochure targeted at the Vinyl shops and market. I have included a few review grabs from QQ members - still under review which ones to use. Please have a look and if you want your own quote on it ......please provide one (a real one!) If you object to your QQ name being used we will dump it.

Might be an idea to remove the Pre-Order now banner for this on your home page and perhaps show as 'in stock now' or something similar.
