Now I'm gonna have to consider this title. If you like Santana "Borboletta" give a shot at the Airto disc.
Ordered all 3 yesterday morning. Got shipping email at 2 am my time. This time I paid for tracking so I wouldn't freak out again.
All I have to add is: Where are the August surround SACDS?
Its only 32 days to August.....

Horrors, Ninecats......I was always told "Never Look a Gift Horse in the Mouth." I totally understand your 'purist' rationale but, hey, 2 QUADs on one SACD for US $16 is a veritable steal [Christmas in July?].
I was always aghast by the incredible waste of real estate when the majors released a single 40 minute album on a BD~A. A BD~A could probably hold twenty times more music per single disc.
you know Ralphie, i think maybe we've got so used to paying more money for less content with this surround music hobby, its quite a shock to get two entire surround albums on one disc for such little money!
keep it up DV (and steelyDV) freddums is lovin' your work!
Poco is like early Eagles but almost blue grass at times, incredible vocal harmonies and great instrumentation. Been a big fan for a long time. Actually met the guys after a concert in town, invited in their tour buss for a beer afterwards. Fun times!
You mean more quad discreet action out of an SQ encoded master than the original 4-track mixdown? Ummmm... I don't think so.Would you prefer they'd just left the album off the two-fer and charged the same price for Airto Fingers on its own to protect your delicate sensibilities? I have the Q8 of In Concert and it's no surround extravaganza, as is the case with a lot of live quad albums. The performances are fantastic, but it's my recollection that the only discrete rear-channel action was the string overdubs to Deodato's tracks, which were added by Bob James after the fact. Given how talented he is, I suspect Mike Dutton has gotten more out of the SQ master with his studio wizardry than the quad mix was originally.
If you like latin jazz/jazz-fusion at all, the quad mix of Fingers is a must - consider In Concert as a bonus to that.
