Hi there!

Completely newbie about quadraphonic sound. Interested about it but I don't have much experience. I do live sound apart from other things but I really enjoy quadraphonic sound each time I go to the cinema with my kid (not so much as it's crazy expensive these days). So I was thinking about a couple of projects and taking this experience to live settings. I would like to know if there are existing libraries of sounds in quadraphonic. I'd like to use them in a theatre context so I'd like to start testing them at my home studio setting four speakers with the help of a digital desk and a RME soundcard that has several outputs. And see what I get and how that could be implemented in a live setting.

Looking for rain sounds, storm sounds, wind sounds, birds sounds, city sounds, etc. I'm not sure if that is availabe for public use.

Thanks for any help!

Daniel

Thanks a lot guys for both links. Those dudes were the real deal doing grounbreaking stuff at that time. Really interesting.
I'm going to set up the equipment I have for replicating a quadraphonic sound set and using Logic Pro and free samples of rain, wind and all that I'm going to experiment and do my own quadraphonic soundscapes. Probably we won't use them as I know the composer I'm working with doesn't like ambient suff that much, but it will be a start to have an idea how it's gonna work later in a real environment.
