Awesome work @humprof - it looks like the total entries have almost doubled, from 682 to 1348 (!)

The only thing I'd suggest is changing the format separators from commas to slashes ( "/" ) - you can do this in Excel by selecting the whole format column in Excel, then go to the Find & Replace menu, Find , Replace with / and then Replace All. This will make it match the formatting of both the (glorious and impeccably maintained) quad engineers listing and also the surround polls.

Maintaining this should get easier going forward as starting with the 2021 Surround Releases thread, @haikubass has wisely added a Surround Engineer column, so you have a one-stop place to find all the newest entries.

Good suggestion, easy fix. It may add a little ambiguity here & there, as individual formats sometimes already include a slash (as in Atmos/Auro-3D BDA, or 24/96 DTS-DVDV), but I don't think it should be too confusing. (Rationalizing & regularizing the format names--there are quite a few variants--is something I might also try to do, incrementally, in the future, along with adding release dates to old entries.)

And yes: I forgot to thank @haikubass, from whose 2021 Surround Releases thread I already lifted a couple of titles!

Thanks to @fredblue for starting(?) and maintaining the list before now, @steelydave and others for endless bird-dogging, and @HomerJAU for technical wizardry. Just one of many amazing resources here at QQ. Work in progress; corrections and additions welcome.

ahh.. it was my absolute pleasure! 🤗
tbh if its not something related to Dutton Vocalion, Involve/Surround Master, SQ/QS/Q8/CD-4 or something mixed in Surround by someone the calibre of Steven Wilson, Elliot Scheiner etc my heart's just not in the hobby the way it was, all those lovely ol' Quads have spoiled me.... forevermore!!! 😂🥰

@humprof a few more new additions as a result of various 'now listening to in surround' posts and other conversations I've taken note of:

(I believe most or all of the London stuff is conducted by Don Jackson, but not positive)

I'm not eager to make more work for the current (that would be me) or future database-minder, but yesterday I posted in the classical thread a link to a 2018 story about Take5 Music Production, whose recording supervisor Thore Brinkman and mixers Jens Braun and Ingo Petry--all of them credentialed Tonmeisters--are effectively (and previously unbeknownst to me) the house recording and mixing team for the esteemed Swedish classical label BIS Records. This effectively makes Braun and Petry the mixers of record for literally dozens of multi-channel releases, going back perhaps a couple of decades.

BIS doesn't always get a lot of love for its surround mixes--I've even seen disparaging speculation that some of them are no more than upmixes from stereo--but I think select recordings (e.g., the Mahler cycle from the Minnesota Orchestra under Osmo Vänskä, or the Stravinsky titles from the Bergen Philharmonic under Andrew Litton) are quite lively, and the mic placement diagrams and interviews in the story show a very careful and deliberate approach to recording and mixing for surround.

Can I also please add the following:
Gene Clark - No Other (BDA/SACD)

There will be 4 more later this year too.....all Love and Rockets

@neil wilkes, are you at liberty to say any more about the upcoming L&R releases? (Should we assume BDAs of the remaining discs from the 2013 box set?)

All I can say at this point is that we are busy on a series of previously unreleased live performances as well as reworking the Beggars Banquet studio titles.
BDA of the box set is highly likely although at this point unconfirmed so whilst I would say 'don't get your hopes up just yet' I would also say that the label are 100% behind The Rockets and this programme of re-issues scheduled for next year.....
All on board the express kundalini!!

1 release to add to the list...from me!
  • Mr. Afternoon - The Golden Bonana (Jul 7, 2021) [5.1] {DVD-Audio}

EDIT: I noticed this thread is for NOTABLE MCh engineers and I sadly do not fit into that category so please ignore this.
We haven't heard the whole TGB set as of yet. So you never know PM; you just might find yourself added to this list.

@edisonbaggins post in the Mika Sinfonia Pop thread got me wondering who did the mix, and it turns out it's Frank Filipetti, who did a number of really good music-only 5.1 remixes including Billy Joel's The Stranger and 52nd Street, and James Taylor's Hourglass, which is a personal favourite.

I had a bit of a comb through Filipetti's discogs page (and his official website, where it turns out we have way more 5.1 credits collated than he does), and came up with a bunch of other music BluRays and DVDs where he's credited for the 5.1 remix, for anyone who wants to explore more of his work:

Frank Filipetti
Andrea Bocelli - One Night in Central Park (BD-V/DVD-V) [2011]
Dave Grusin - An Evening With Dave Grusin (BD-V) [2011]
Elton John - Greatest Hits: One Night Only (DD DVD-V) [2003]
Elton John - The Red Piano (BD-V/DVD-V) [2008]
James Taylor - Live at the Beacon Theatre (DD DVD-V) [1998] (with John Alberts)
Meat Loaf - VH1 Storytellers (DD DVD-V) [2003]
Mika - Sinfonia Pop (BD-V/DVD-V) [2016]
Ted Nugent - Motor City Mayhem (The 6,000th Concert) (BD-V/DVD-V) [2009]

You were saying just after the 7th Dream release how you'd love to get your hands on 'Express'. This sounds promising! And hopefully Beggars will get some of that old Cult outta the vault, too.

Poussin Kechit
Lavilliers - Carnets de Bord (SACD)

Evidently this engineer's nom de potentiomètre is "Poussin," tout simple. (Here's his LinkedIn, which uses his full name.) From the following piece, it's apparent that not only has he done the recent streaming Atmos mixes of all the Serge Gainsbourg studio albums, he's actually the longtime custodian of the Gainsbourg catalog, having overseen various compilations and remasters--and the 5.1 mix of Histoire de Melody Nelson from 2011. (He's also done lots of 5.1 concert recordings, and he mastered the Blu-Rays of Legend and Songs In the Key of Life, among others.)
