Those sneaky devils... they know that nutters and completists will have a hard time saying "no"...

The nice thing will probably be that all three albums will be in the mini-book format that the Wish You Were Here SACD has.[/QUOTE

Personally, I'd rather have an optional jewel case version, for storage and display with my hundreds of other discs. All these various size packagings are annoying if you just want the music.

I just take the "special" disc, whether it's a DVD-A, SACD or even a Blu Ray, and put it into a double jewel case with my original CD copy. Then I put the various weird packaging sized things away in a storage tub.
I feel the same way. I don't even bother displaying my collection anymore. They looked like some crazy Mondrian sitting on the shelf. I just ripped the discs to the computer, and then place them in storage tubs.

Yep, along with marbles, picks, coasters and all the other useless baubles!

See post #407
I'd have rather had an Immersion set with Snowy White guitar solo on Pigs on the Wing, early mixes, soundboard concert cassettes, and even early quad rough mix, concert quad backing tapes. But maybe that will happen as well.

Oh, and by the way, I prefer any format over SACD when possible.

Thanks!

We'll see!

I like the idea a lot. But my display cases don't accomodate double jewel cases.

Rip and store all physical media That's me.

I have been buying music since I was 12 and I am now 63, many formats, media and machines have come and gone in my history, but ripping my collection to digital files, FLAC, WAV, or DSF have been the best and funnest way of listening ever.
Do I miss reading and looking at the big album covers, of course I do, but I can still hold little album covers and read liner notes with a magnifying glass, ;).

Hey marpow, what's this 63 years old nonsense? You're only 39. In fact, I've been 39 for a very long time. :SB

I'm trying to remember, when Wish You Were Here first came out in 5.1 did the Analogue Productions release come out before the Immersion boxed set? I think it did, because I remember slightly pausing when the Immersion box came out, because I already had it in 5.1 - but the inclusion of the 4.0 mix sealed it. Now, it's not necessarily a pattern, but perhaps a larger Animals boxed set will be coming, down the line. With Nick Mason's comments about difficulty finding enough material, they are perhaps waiting to first see how much consumer interest there is over this release before potentially green-lighting a more elaborate boxed set. We always bemoan the bloated boxed sets, but I'm a Floyd fan and an Animals fan, so I'd spring for a larger box as well, should it come to be.

I'm pretty sure the big box Immersion set arrived first for WYWH before AP got their chance at it.
