Thanks for that look KCrimson. Here is the first point at which all tracks are active together in Trains on the new BRa ripped to flac. Unfortunately to me it doesn't look like anything much has been done except a small increase in LFE. Center and LFE still appear inverted and LFE lagging the rest by about 6ms (?)View attachment 50754
Just to clarify, is this a rip of the replacement BR disc? Strange that the issues with the 5.1 mix have not been fixed but won't draw conclusions until I get my copy and rip it myself...

Is it the replacement BRa disc? Good question. It's from the disk that was in the 4 disc set I just received from BS yesterday having preordered but only after others got the initial shipment and it was determined that tracks were missing. (I certainly hope they wouldn't still mistakenly be sending out the defective ones!). Let's compare some pics of the discs for identifying marks of the known defective one (if someone would be kind enough to post them) vs this one that I just received.

If KCrimson is correct about the addition of a serial number around the perimeter text of the BRa label, I may have got a defective one

See how your media and the back of the case say /Bonus Material/? Because it isn't on your BR menu means you got an original one. The 9 songs from CD2 should be 96/24 LPCM Stereo. They were left off the original BR and added to the corrected one.

"one of the blunders of the world and no one cares enough"

Very disappointing that they're still sending out defective discs/sets.

Even easier to spot whether the disc is a fixed newer press is that it does NOT have the Kscope website address text on the disc edge (which the original press does have).

The disc pictured above by Delicious2 is the old "defective" disc.

These kinds of debacles are not usually associated with Steven Wilson ventures. I was discouraged (like most people) when I saw that Steven wouldn't be remixing this but hopeful nonetheless that it would be a clear improvement. This has to be terribly disappointing for him to see this, and with Porcupine Tree's magnum opus no less. I am glad I waited. I will live with my very fine DVD audio of this

So, is there a kind soul among us with a "corrected" disc who can verify fixes were made to all 5.1 tracks?

The recent posts made me go and dbl check the replacement I got from Kscope....it is the new disc, but my computer blu-ray drive is still in a box around here somewhere...trying to get the speakers out, connected and running so I can at least listen to 5.1 again (3.1 so far, hopefully over the weekend.....). After the errors, you'd certainly hope that it'd been checked before sending out....next question may be did the "fix" break anything else? Some of these discs are so finicky with players and I hope that any new issues were not introduced.

It took a month for me to receive my copy of "Ammonia Avenue" from them, so I guess it'll be a few weeks until I receive my replacement. Whatever.

Hi, I received my full digibook this morning (they sent it the "hacking week"). I haven't enough free space in any of my HDs for ripping and checking the waveform. However, I have a scanner and some pictures.

First of all. My deluxe digibook arrives sealed but with the replacement BD in a plastic bag. So it seems they're still sending the old deluxe digibooks and adding the replacement BDs as "external bonus":

And with this bit of paper:

The printed side of both BDs are different. As Simon_LDT told, the defective one has the Kscope website address text on the disc edge, however the replacement BD hasn't.

The old BD:

And the replacement:

You can see the serial number too: KSCOPE548BD2 802644354873 up to the right of the BD. The colour of the BDs seems a bit different too.

The matrix of the defective one (EK97011-01):

And the replacement matrix (EK04111-01)

And here are the BD menus (old above and replacement below):

By the way, the replacement BD is "bigger", the size of the defective BD is 40.9 GB and the replacement is 44.8 GB
