I had an email from Townsend Music so I ordered mine from there Townsend Music Online Record Store - Vinyl, CDs, Cassettes and Merch - Prince & The New Power Generation - Diamonds And Pearls £20 + £3.50 P&P (tracked 48)

Yes it has some great music & vids. Those ordering the big set will be in for a treat. But I just ordered the stand alone BD Pure Audio disc from SDE. Whether it's Purple Rain the film or the more recent Prince Live in Syracuse 1985 Blu-ray 5.1 results have been pretty bad. Perhaps the ATMOS project will involve more commitment to good surround sound rather than just tacking on Q & D 5.1 for added value. Now I've taken the LD audio/video & did some pre-synth & work on it and it sounds amazing through the SM. I will keep my hopes high for the new release!

Just be aware that the box does not include the studio album in surround.
According to The Second Disc article linked to above:
"The album, newly remastered by Bernie Grundman".

Disappointing, but I'll still buy the box as I have all the others. Also bodes well for future Prince releases.
that's the remastering of the old stereo mix. Grundman doesn't do surround mixes, does he?
You're probably right. I see he did the 1999 SDE but that was stereo only.
I think @edisonbaggins should get in touch with Paul at SDE & see what he can find out!

I just kept it simple for me and ordered from SDE, as much as I like big box sets, this is one I likely would not dive into.
