I just picked this up at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix.

I've never thought to ask, and come to think of it... I've never seen a mix credit for Billy Cobham's Spectrum quad mix.
Ken Scott did the stereo mixes of course. Did he also do the quad? It's all there on the tape box track sheet I would guess.

I'd rather not have Grateful Dead in quad, as the 5.1s were magnificent, and deserve an Atmos upgrade.

[that's a joke to the lunch box, ok, sort of]

p.s. it's only 24 -- or hopefully less -- hours away until something!

The 5.1s (Grateful Dead high res releases) were magnificent, and deserve an Atmos upgrade.

No doubt. I heard someone say they hated them because of the in the middle of the band feeling they were specifically designed to offer--So not sure what they were smoking I don't know how many times have tested my bass driver symmetry with Ripple (off American beauty) :)

Sadly somehow I cracked my DVD Audio and even though I backed it up as an image that's one that has watermarking so I can't play it in my car now (Bose Studio Surround system option played the actual disc in high-res) :(. One of these days I'll pick up another one cuz it's one that's one of the few DVDAs not outrageously priced...yet.

All of the decent DVD-As were climbing up in price and into the unaffordable zone for me anyway. And then once ISO and FLAC came into vogue for music server harddrive playback they all come back down to reality. $80 to $120 was not uncommon to see. The two G. Dead releases are two of my faves. Glad I found each of them in the $20 - $25 range.

How soon until the price of the AF SACD of Spectrum drops?
A seller or two will want to cash out on the AF, and so will drop their price to a $69 tag. But many will buckle down and hope not everyone heard about the quadio release, thus keeping it a higher (over) priced item.

The Ten Years After LP/DVD quad still sees some outrageous asking prices, even after the improved SDE release.

Note: For some reason, Rhino isn't calculating the "Spend $100, get free shipping" for me correctly if the quadio bundle is in my cart.

It does work, however, if I put the four quadio titles in the cart separately (which would still take advantage of the "buy four quadio titles for $79.98" deal they have).

And yes, I do have another item that brings the price above $100.
