My copy on the way to California.
I'm sure with ALL the cancelations they received [I AM among the 'guilty' party], they might've had a rude awakening that NO SURROUND .... NO DEAL! Will still anxiously await reviews. So if it's jolly 5.1 remix, I may reorder but probably without the limited edition special pop up packaging.......for that, there's Viagra!
Again, if there are waiting and sending the dvd later why not make it what they intended - a 5.1 mix? There's no big rush....if SW can delay his album until Jan 2021 then so can Rick.
I've seen no evidence that the DVD was intended to be 5.1, hi-res, or anything but a "making of" companion to the redbook CD.Again, if there are waiting and sending the dvd later why not make it what they intended - a 5.1 mix? I purchased the download version a week ago here: Rick Wakeman: The Red Planet - The Red Planet Digital Download
It is a very good album.

Because it wasn't specifically announced that it would NOT be 5.1, naturally that triggered wild speculation from the usual gang of chattering monkeys here.
Wishful thinking with no substance or basis in fact.
Perhaps go back and read the first few pages of this thread. It was indeed intended to have surround, and was pre-sold as having surround. Rick confirmed it when asked.
When the virus hit the surround hadn't been done yet and was ditched resulting in several here requesting refunds. I chose not to as I wanted the package anyway, and I still say they just ought to have delayed the whole thing and done what they'd intended (and pre-sold as).
I'm sure 'someone' can use their wonderful technology and up-mix this to 5.1 in the near futureFYI - The Red Planet . (FAQs about the release.)
The surround sound question is high up the list - maybe they get asked about surround a lot?
But the curt answer doesn't leave much room for hoping there will be 5.1.
But they say high res might be available, so you never know...

Same here. I cancelled long ago, when they removed the comment about surround sound on the sales blurb. And, I'm getting all the emails saying it's coming. haha...maybe they'll send it to me anyway?Yes, even though I cancelled, this morning I got 3 emails telling me it is dispached and 2 emails about the missing DVD, maybe I'll get 3 in the post?
Mine arrived today as well, I thought they were supposed to be signed as well, can't remember!
