hey AMaster. Nice post. Thank You. I know what I would like to hear for my first but Im going to be at mercy as to what I can readily get my hands on as my whole library is currently in 32 tubs. 32 BIG tubs So it will be a random dive. I did see The Doors in Atmos nearby..........................
This looks like a project for loving wifey. Tell her to find ???? in the boxes. Because you know she loves you so much and how important it is to your psychological well being to start off right.

the screen is up. and for those who know I follow a certain football team....... And yes, adjustments need to be made. The projector was to install today too but there was no lower mount plate - plus the down pole was too long for my taste. tomorrow we adjust for that and then - hopefully - start audio and video

May I assume all of that pretty but (distracting) blue lighting goes away when watching a movie???

SW, where's your sense of theatricality? Of course the blue lights will be diminished while Ricko is watching jock sports or 'serious cinema' but will be re~engaged while playing Elton John's iconic album

Elton John – Blue Moves (1988, CD) - Discogs

Looking good but pretty sure the lighting should be scarlet...
Perhaps we should get into an annual matchup where the loser has to display something from the other team for a season..
C.mom man. Of course you want to start the tradition this year. We will be lucky if you dont have the second string in after halftime. Im not taking your bet

Nah not this year, I don't want to compound your misery.
It might otherwise be a fun cross-border thing.

It seems that the QQ tailgate thread keeps seeping into many other threads around here. Eh, @JohnN ?

In an Imax theater in a theme park I helped build, the architect had specified red seats. We discovered that in bright scenes in the movie, if the theater was not full, they cast a pinkish tint back onto the screen!
In my HT, I painted the walls in a "neutral density" gray so they wouldn't do this or distract. My seats are a dark brown so don't reflect much light.

While the light surrounding the perimeter of the screen looks like Lions blue, the rest of the wall looks more like Ravens purple. At least it does on my screen. Good choice.

LOL

Right. All the professionally designed rooms I’ve been in (and I worked on some screening rooms for Columbia Pictures back in the 1980s) had neutral dark hues for the surfaces that could reflect. My room is mostly dark brown, and it works well for me.
