Gene, on your pc you are able to see the network as well? When you double click on PC/Computer icon you see on the left side Network. You probably see the Oppo mentioned there as multimedia player. Or something similar. If so, you can right click on the icon and select properties to see the IP address.

The Oppo Media Control app also displays the IP address of the Oppo.

My laptop only shows what is directly connected to it. So, even though laptop itself is connected to network, seems to me it doesn't show the network... ?? So, what I see is my external drive and my external burner.

my netgear router has a windows program that shows all connected devices and their ip's

if you click on each one you can rename it

maybe your router has a similar program?

Yeah, my netgear has a fancy/smancy program - but there is nothing "clickable" in regards to the devices. At least that I can tell...

Did my first rip. Followed grill's instructions but the sacd_extract.exe did not start. A window appeared to open and close really quick, and that was the extent of it. I thought maybe Norton was blocking it but that was not it.

I then moved the sacd_extract folder to my C: drive off the root, went to a command line and entered the parameters directly into the DOS window as the instructions show:

C:\sacd_extract>sacd_extract -i 192.168.1.121:2002 -P -I

and it worked perfectly (My Oppo's IP address is 192.168.1.121). I did not realize this was a DOS command line deal. (Of course I should have)

Anyway, hope this helps for future folks who don't see the obvious like I didn't! :)

Hi Jon, wasn't there a command line file in the zipped folder, should be sacd.cmd. Double cliking this would do the trick as well.

Yeah. I was double-clicking the wrong file!

Still, it was kinda retro typing the string in DOS. :)

That's what the sacd.cmd fie is for. You edit it to your players IP address then run the sacd.cmd file.

Yes but that is one reason I prefer to use the iso2dsd GUI. I can load multiple copies of it, each with a different IP address, and rip from multiple PS3/Oppo machines simultaneously. FWIW.

And yet... This thread... Any chance you'd be willing to try ripping, to see if it's still possible on the new firmware?

I know the day is coming when I'll be playing files from a media server. That's when I'll likely want to start ripping all my discs. When that happens will likely be a case of being forced into it; when downloads are the only option. So, no, I'm not going to be ripping any sacd's for the time being.

My firmware update went thru today. I also ripped my first sacd iso. Everything seems fine except for one thing... I'm ripping my 2nd iso but can not find the first one. Does each new rip over write the previous if you didn't move the previous?

Only if they have the same name.
