Do you agree with the message above, that I won't get much benefit based on my current setup?

AVR = Denon 6700H, Amp = Emotiva XPA 6 Gen 3 (driving fronts, center, wides). Fronts = Klipsch RF 7 III, Center RC 64 III, Wides = 600 MII, Surrounds = 250S, Rears = 600M, Heights = PRO 180 RPC, SWs 1 = 1600SW, SW2 = 1400SW. Would it make much difference if I add the Emotiva XPA 9 Gen 3 and I changed the AVR for the Anthem AVM 70?

Alan, your Emotiva XPA 6 Gen 3 with all 6 channels driven, it is rated at 225 watts RMS per channel at 8 ohms with 0.1% THD. You are driving only 5 speakers with this amp, so you are likely getting a bit more than that. The Klipsch RF 7 III has a sensitivity of 100 db at 1 meter with power handling of 250 watts maximum. I really don't think that any larger amplifier is going to give you better performance. The Klipsches only need 64 watts for 118 dB sound pressure level, which is deafening. Doubling your amplifier output to 450 wpc will give you only 3 dB SPL more headroom.

As a comparison, my AR9 front speakers have a sensitivity of only 87 dB. I am driving them with 400 wpc RMS amps. My ears give out well before the amps and the speakers.

I agree, the high sensitivity of the Klipsch speakers is unlikely to need a lot of amplification. Unless there are some extreme impedance swings (which I don't think is a problem with Klipsch) your current amp is more than enough and honestly a decent receiver is probably fine.

The argument for separates in that use case would be for better processing (which I feel is questionable with how good processing is overall today) or features. If you have a local brick and mortar shop they may allow you to demo a unit in your home to compare.

I don't see why you should change the AVR unless you are looking for a newer user interface (the new Denon and Marantz AV and AVR products have a 1080p interface). The Denon 6700 is one of the best measuring products out there and it's reliable.
You are amplyfing the most demanding channels so far, at least fronts and centre. While I prefer to run external amplification on all channels, I don't think the different will be audible unless your speakers are very difficult to drive and some are full range.

It simply started me wanting to upgrade from 9.2.4 to 9.2.6 that's my initial wish. However a guy I know talked to me about how a step up would be to going full separate processor.

Thanks!

I have to admit that I’m not familiar with any of the hardware you listed. About all I can say about Emotiva is that I’m not all that impressed with the quality of theor Chinese-made electronics. My Stealth 8s all needed recapping after five or six years (usually a 20-year problem) and that a mounting screw had been left off one of the boards. I bought my BasX recently, trusting that it had been built in the US.

Of course, receivers can provide satisfactory performance. Going separates (and bi-amped speakers) is probably overkill, especially for my 77 year old ears. I like what I’ve got, but everyone has their own standards.

Separates are probably only really noticeable if you push the system hard (very loud) and if there’s a lot of bass in the signal.
