One afternoon in the early '70s, my dad plunked me down in the middle of his friend's living room and said "you have to hear this, son". Even as a kid, the glorious sound of Simon & Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Water surrounding me in quadraphonic sound was a life-changing moment.
