Yes you have to keep those cast iron pans seasoned.

I have one of those “genuine Chinese hand-hammered woks” that they were selling in infomercials back in the 80s or 90s. It’s iron, and getting the seasoning right was a bit tricky, but it’s been pretty easy to care for for ages.
