I usually have the TV on as background when I'm on the computer...so I turned it on today and a movie was on that I hadn't seen for decades...ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN...what a great movie....hard to believe it was 1976...if you haven't seen it...you should check it out...

I wonder how many on the forum still "participate" in Halloween...maybe a lot of kids in your neighborhood or you have young children.
Last night was my first (it's not really a thing in Oz, or England when I was young) and my partner was at work. She gave me instructions on etiquette and a big bowl of candy bars for them to pick from. Over two hours, I had 31 kids from 12 visits. I asked each group what "tricks" they were offering if I didn't choose the "treats" option - amazing how many (about 80%) hadn't reflected on that question ("We don't have any", "Er....", "No, my tricks suck...").

But of those who said they had tricks: Next door neighbour's girl said she'd kidnap our Frankie (ginger cat); one girl did a cartwheel (not sure if that counts; I thought the idea was to threaten me, or the property, in some way); one guy would "steal the treats" as his trick; and a 14-year-old boy dressed up in a business suit (which was immediately a threat to me per se), claimed he was "Trump" (but had no red wig).

Anyhow, they all got their treats, I got a giggle from the whole thing, and we have some candy bars left over for ourselves.

Welcome to Canada, eh.
